As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, \u201cRabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?\u201d
\nJesus answered, \u201cNeither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him. I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.\u201d When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man\u2019s eyes with the mud, and said to him, \u201cGo, wash in the pool of Siloam\u201d (which means \u201cSent\u201d). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing. The neighbors therefore, and those who saw that he was blind before, said, \u201cIsn\u2019t this he who sat and begged?\u201d Others were saying, \u201cIt is he.\u201d Still others were saying, \u201cHe looks like him.\u201d
\nHe said, \u201cI am he.\u201d They therefore were asking him, \u201cHow were your eyes opened?\u201d
\nHe answered, \u201cA man called Jesus made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, \u2018Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash.\u2019 So I went away and washed, and I received sight.\u201d
\nThen they asked him, \u201cWhere is he?\u201d
